The surprise is probably the open beta of Metal Gear Online which is released on Thursday... :D

Yes (Although it is less than 300k download, so I think the updates were all in the 1.1 update a few months back).

Despite my earlier cynicism, It is all very fast and from browsing the store to buying the upgrade was very very fast!!

Edit: Once you launch the update it downloads 153MB more!!

Hmm, intriguing. I do like a bit of SSHD so for £3 it's worth investigating.

Just installed SSHD (original) from scratch which was 148MB and then it said it needed updating to version 3.00 and downloaded 153MB. All this before buying the new update. Wonder what that's all about.

(I am 319th but that is crap)

There is 4 new modes!! Dunno which one to concentrate on!! (Surely a resurrection of the Super Stardust HD leaderboard thread is called for soon!!)

Strange thread to ask the question, but I think I can speak safely for everyone when I say that if it is not working with your router than it is a router/lan issue. I don't think it is plausible that the 2nd biggest selling ADSL router in the EU has not worked with PS3 for over 1 year and you are the only one who knows about it :)

Why not create a new thread with some questions and "we" can help you. I have used the PS3 both wired and wireless on a Netgear DG834G V3 and a DG834GT (as well as some other ones that are not relevant to this conversation).

I've had loads of problems with the PS3 and wireless in the past. Was fine up until the update that included the media centre functionality, after that point it was usless. Random disconnects, low power and disappearing access points etc. I tried multiple routers and various router firmwares and all gave me the same problem. In the end I went out and got some Homeplugs and haven't had to touch the networking since :D

I'd seriously recommend them, wouldn't dream of using wireless now unless I absolutely had too. Gives better bandwidth for streaming also.

My routers were Linksys and Buffalo, so I have no experience of Netgear and PS3.
 
The store is easier to use - but its a bit basic isnt it?

The initial menu structure just looked a bit boring (but I was looking around 8am this morning was very slow downloading thumbnails etc)

I suspected it was the same GT5P "spec II" update which had to be reapplied (there was GT-TV updates though) otherwise I couldnt see anything new or exciting - but I only played for about an hour before going to work so I cant be sure

Look forward to the DTS-HD, will have to try it out this evening (the update/changes didnt mention anything aobut this though, only the store upgrade)

-edit just read the seperate thread on the GT5P updates - fair enough, nothing that exciting to be honest)

This is exactly the problem I said could happen a few weeks ago when they previewed it! No captions under the icons would mean that if the icons didn't show up, then there'd be navigation issues!
