I have a bit of spare cash this month so thought i would treat myself to another console. I have a Wii and 360 but quite fancy a bluray player and figured I could kill two birds with one stone and get a PS3.

I have a 27" Samsung HD TV but unfortunately it does not have HDMI. It does have a component connection (which I use with Wii).

So what is my best option to connect the PS3 to the TV? I am fully prepared to keep disconnecting the Wii, is the Sony Component cable the best to get or will the third party cable be ok?

I also have a spare DVI connection on the back of the TV, could I use this?

Thanks

Component would be best for the PS3. I dont think you can connect it directly via DVI or VGA yet.

However, the best connection possible for the PS3 is HDMI, but component should be fine. If your getting the 40Gb PS3, remember that it doesn't come with a component cable, just a composite one.

DVI does not carry sound. I use an optical connection to my Logi 5500s. You can use the composite cable provided for sound and use the HDMI --> DVI for video.
