PS3 analog sticks do not work on PS1 games :(

I just found out the hard way that for downloadeded PS1 games off the PSN, the analogue sticks will not work for some reason. Crash Bandicoot 2 and Spyro 2 do not use them, even when I press the PS button and set it to analog mode.

Apparently it's to do with having the games also working on the PSP - Sony has to remove the analogue stick configurations to tailor the games to work with the PSP's specifications or something, but the options in the PS button screen indicate it may be fixed in a path.

Anyone else annoyed with this?

I assume the games in question supported the analogue controller? Since the analogue controller came out a bit later in the life of the PS. Is that maybe it?

Have tried using the PS button on the controller, It has an analog option there for PS2 and PS1 games, maybe that may work.

Yeah, it defaults at 'digital', so I press up and it says 'analogue' and I press x to ok it. I exit, only to find it still doesn't work. When I go back to the option it's back on 'digital' again. This problem is widely reported on PS3 forums it seems.
