I am going to be getting a PS3 in the next few weeks and I have a few worrys about how to connect it to my TV. I have a Philips 26PF4310/10 HD Ready TV which only has a DVI-I connector and a 3.5mm audio jack, will I be able to use a HDMI-DVI cable such as the Profigold PGV1102 for the video? This has a DVI-D end on it but according to other sites it should work! Next up is the audio, I have heard rumours you can use the A/V Multiport on the PS3 for audio and the HDMI port for video at the same time, can I use the supplied AV cable and get a 2x Phono to 3.5mm Jack adapter to plug into the 3.5mm jack on the back of my TV?

That is all for now chaps, all help is appreciated! I hope I don't have to get a sound system with a digital input!

PS. I have used the Search function and didn't turn up any decent results!

You can use any combination of outputs for the audio and video, i have my AV connector plug into my PC speakers using the same kind of connection. If you go into the audio setup menu on the PS3 just select which connection you have, it will default to HDMI audio/video when you connect the lead.
Im not sure about the jack on the TV, make sure its an input not a normal headphone type socket.

Yes you can use multiple connetions. Im using a Component PS3 cable for sound via the PS3s multi av-out, then using HDMI for display to my 2407 with a DVI to HDMI cable.

Unfortantly, you cant use DVI-I as its an analogue signal and HDMI is digital, so only DVI-D will work. You can buy an analogue to digital converter box that uses Component output for the PS3, though they are around 40quid.

Also a jack converter should work with the standard av composite cable if thats what you mean.

First off, thanks for confirming I can use the Multi-out and HDMI :) Next thing is regarding the DVI-I and DVI-D - Apparently, if you have a DVI-I port it will accept Analog and Digital signals (Linky: http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/DVI_info.html) so long as you use a DVI-D cable to carry the digital signals. As a side note I have used an XBox 360 on this screen, would the signal not have been digital on that?

If someone could clarify this for me that would be great :)

Thanks,

Craig
