PS3 back compatibility

Having never owned a PS2 the 60gb model without the fudged backwards compatibilty seems quite appealing to me.

The problem is though that i've been hearing that even then the PS3 has more then a couple of issues with some popular games.

How have people been getting on and is there a list of known issues in PS2 games?

The 80gb version is the equivalent of our 60gb version.

I've played quite a few PS1\PS2 titles on my PS3, only problem I noticed with any of them was that the crosshair was missing on GTA:Vice City on some of the scoped guns, other than that i've not had any problems (not saying there aren't any)

Just playing through Resident Evil 4 now and that looks great upscaled.
