ok iv got into an argument on weather a pc is better than a ps3 at collage.

my m8s all think ps3, i asked why and they said its cheaper and better looking BS
my gaming rig cost me £600
Athlon dual black 2.8GHZ oc to 3GHZ
gtx 260
22" Widescreen LG monitor
4GB 1200MHZ RAM

but to get a ps3 to look nearly as good as that u need a HD tv, and even then it doesnt look nearly as good (crysis).
a HD tv will set u back at around £509 for an LG 1080p 37"
and ps3 £300
so all in all your paying £809 excluding the £50 games brand new, now wheres the logic in that, (and if ur wondering why i included the HD tv, its because they always include the monitor when telling you the price of a pc).

also he said that pc controls were **** and to difficult when he only played on my pc for about 10mins and gave up.
yet it just takes getting used to.

there was a forum saying that a ps3 has 8 cell cores equivalent to 3.2GHZ,
but only 1 fan and a small box(looks like it can be used a lean mean grilling machine;)) imagine the heat if used to its full potential.
if its true.

i think that whoever thinks a ps3 is better than pc, only thinks that because there pc cant play ****, or they've never played the correct pc
(stupid ps3 fanboys)

my Q is, weather a pc really is better than ps3
all things considered lifespan, price, heat, playing times in a row, graphics, compatibility, gameplay and exlusive game titles.

My main reasoning behind a PS3 being better than a PC.

All games that come to PS3 now and in the future will run on its current spec. :p

so thats ur only reasen that a ps3 is better than a pc, of so its a bit short sighted since u can upgrade pc parts

and when a next gen console comes out ur ps3 will be collecting dust.

But thats not the comparison in the OP now is it. My reply was only as short sighted as your comparison.

If you can upgrade a PC time and time again how is that a fair comparison exactly?

The only good thing i can say in the argument to stickup for the ps3/xbox is that because the spec is the same for every single system developers can really push the limits of game design and not have to worry about people with lower spec machines that might make up majority of their target audiance so have to produce a lower standard game compared to technology avalible

With a console, if something breaks you get the whole thing replaced. With a PC, you have to troubleshoot and sort out RMA's. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Now, stop being a fanboy.

yes, and I've replied. You're saying its okay to upgrade the PC at any cost, But the PS3 can still run its games just the same, at no extra cost

were did i say that, also pc is future proof, plus games in the future are no doubt going to be to high reqiurements for ps3 soon anyway, just look at crysis(developt about 2-3 yrs ago.

Fanboys are just the poor ones that cant afford all 3 consoles and a pc. ;)

Or the ones that don't understand other peoples tastes! I get sick of the arguments between fanboys, I just leave them too it.

The amount of time wasted arguing why your PS3 is better than the 360 or vice versa, you could have spent time actually playing the damn thing and enjoying it for what it's meant for - playing awesome games.

last time my 9800gtx broke it was a simple take and replace, first time i ever replaced something in my pc, no problems at all, now if i had a ps3 it waould have cost me £300 to replace instead of the replace and upgrade £150 cost me:)

Yes - the PC is a better platform given the power and huge back catalogue of games. However, it's also receiving fewer and fewer exclusive titles and developers just aren't pushing the limit of things at the moment.

I'm a strong proponent of the PC as the best gaming platform but at the end of the day you just gotta let people use what they want to use.

It's all swings and roundabouts. Some people like crunchy peanut butter; some people like smooth. And some people don't like peanut butter at all.

true, but arguing is sometimes quite fun, as im enjoying this;)

You've missed the point. Something breaks, you get the whole unit replaced. If a GPU breaks, you have to troubleshoot, Wait for new card, install new drivers ect. I'd take a PC anyday though.
