ps3 better than pc BS

But more releases and you don't have to wait ages for multiplats which are just console ports anyway? Both have there ups and downs. Best to have everything.

The rate of releases are not important to me that why i did not go into that area.

If there are games that i have to wait for the PC port then i will wait because more often than not the PC version is better because of the other things i have mentioned even if they change nothing at all from the console version.

Regardless, imo spending more money, to have a nicer gaming experience ( framerate, graphics, controls, customization) is definitely worth it.

And its as simple as that.
Some people are willing to pay & some are not.

thats the plan, once i get my ps3 slim at the of the month :D

another benefit of a console will be able to sit back on a nice comfy sofa watch a bluray or play a casual game. also playstation will have a new motion controller soon, which looks promising.

pc gaming will always be my prefered choice though ;)

I can do my PC gaming in exactly the same way.

A consoe isnt exactly expensive as they cost the same as buying just a single commponent of the PC. and the pc needs to have money spent on it every year just to make sure it can play the same games the sonsoles are getting.

That said its just easier to own both since youll have access to all games instead of just those few that come out for the single playform you own.

Consoles and pc parts are cheaper then ever having grown up with the expense of the 8bit/16bit computer era when 300/400 quid for a computer was a lot of money! ;)

I used to play PC games a lot. Since then I moved over to XBOX and PS3. TBH I prefer to play 1st person games on a PC because I find it easier using a keyboard and mouse. But as an overall gaming machine I would go for the consoles. Plus lots of my friends have consoles.

No it doesn't. Up until very recently I had an 8800gt, e6300 and 4gb ram and despite being at least 2 years old it still ran games better than a console would.

If the PC was capable of console level performance when you bought it, it still is now.

P.S I did upgrade to a Q6600 last week but only because I got a silly good bargain on it.

a good pc is not even close to playstation

In what way? They both have advantages and disadvantages.

Ease of use - PS3.
Games - Depends entirely on what you prefer. PC has a larger selection though.
Graphics - Good PC every time.
Online - I have to go with PC, it's been doing it for so much longer but again it's personal preference.
Controls - I have to give it to PC again because of the huge array of controllers you can get.
Cost/Value - PS3

I love gaming on my PC, I love gaming on my 360, I love gaming on my PS3, I love gaming on my Wii. Do I really need to justify WHY? Or can the fact that I just enjoy playing on them really be enough?

Arguing over which is best is an absolutely, fruitless, pointless endeavour as everybody has different tastes. The sooner people realise this and stop arguing over something that's unquantifiable, the better.

lifespan- is self explanitary, ur thinking to much into this, how long they both last

No, no he really isn't.

The PS2 for example, had a lifespan of over 6 years. It was released in 2000, presuming you bought the PS2 at launch you'd have gotten around 7 years or so before the PS3 became readily available.

Purchasing a PC in 2000 and attempting to play games on it in 2007 would have been a chore, if not impossible.

His points are completely valid, you cannot say "well I can upgrade my PC and I'll be able to play games on it in the future... you're PS3 will only last 5~ years before it's out of date."

If you can swap out the entire core of your computer, change the OS, the motherboard, the CPU, the PSU, the graphics card, the memory, the HDD's, swap the case, swap to a Solid State Drive.... what makes you think you're still running the same PC?

If someone purchases a new console... they've done EXACTLY what you've done buy "upgrading" your PC to play the new games that your PC won't allow you to play.

It's all a load of tosh, I own a Wii, a PS3, a 360 and three PC's. I've had almost all major consoles since the very late 80's... I'd rather game on a console with friends, but I prefer certain consoles over others... a PC is good for RTS, internet browsing, Sims and MMO's.

Right now, gaming for me is the 360 with the PS3 close behind... The PS3 gets an awful lot of use but it's mainly Blu-Ray's or the odd exclusive PS3 title.... and my Wii is gathering dust next to my TV.

I'm on my PC daily, but I'm not gaming on it... if I am I'm probably playing an RTS, Football Manager or some other simulation or Point & Click Adventure. I'm generally checking emails, I'm on OcUK or I'm programming or doing work.

Stop whining, you cannot win this argument... a console is better at certain things a PC is better at others.

And for the love of God don't bring in a "I can upgrade my PC!!!" line as an argument, because if you can spend £500-£1,000 building a (new) PC... console goers can purchase the next gen PS4, Xbox 720 or Nintendo Vomit for circa £300 and be very pleased with their purchase (maybe not if you bought a vomit ;))

+1 to nikebee

I used to pay a small fortune every year or two to play games on a decent pc and I was happy to do that as I got value for money with the hours I spent playing various types of new releases

Apart from the fact I havent got as much spare income to do that, or enough spare time to warrant it, nowadays I chose a PS3 every single time (I had a 360 in the early days but didnt enjoy it that much). I would never try and write an email on a ps3, or browse all the sites I usually go to, but for playing games, watching movies and streaming music its perfect and to my eyes it looks decent too

Each to their own and all that, and thats the way it should be - I wouldnt be without my pc and I wouldnt be without my ps3s either, each of them are better at some tasks than others

A Products over all Function & capabilities/performance is what its judged on.
The PC is has more function & capabilities than the PS3 in the gaming area over all.

Personal Preference between the 2 is a matter for the individual.
Preferring a product over another does not does not make it A better product, its just that you prefer it for whatever reason/reasons.

A V8 engine is a better product than a V4, because an engines job is to deliver power. The fact that the V8 cost more, costs more to run, worse miles per gallon does not take away from the fact that it has more capable power & better performance, but many people will prefer the V4 because the cost to them is more important than the performance & is more suitable for there needs.

So really the discussion what's better is silly, it should be what you prefer & why.

Amen.

Gamers will have both.. players will choose one or the other.

I prefer sports games on the console, I prefer my FPS to be played on PC.. I will never ever use a controller for that genre.

However, I demo'ed Killzone 2 the other day for the first time, I may hook my PS3 up to my monitor, keyboard and mouse... that looks like it could be fun!!

i especially like how you compared a 37" LCD with a 22", and suggested the 22 is better hehe

Taken me a while, but have now come off gaming on PC completely - make it sound like an addiction :)

Only gamed on PC for most of my life until last year when I got my first console - a 360. Since have gradually been gaming less and less on pc, and not too long ago got PS3. Now I don't even have a gaming capable GPU any more.

I know that the PC offers better image quality, and the mouse and keyboard offers better control, but as long as I am touching mouse and keyboard I still feel like I am at work. Plus, I would never have a pc in my living room, so couldn't sit on sofa and game.
