PS3 Bluetooth Headset reviews

Does it state that it's the official headset? Just looked and i can't see any mention of it being the official one, just that it's limited edition (which the official one isn't)

[EDIT] Ah, it does have an incredibly low quality shot of the official one, still thrown off by the fact they are claiming it is limited edition.

Looking at the pic its the Socom one, but i heard that it wasnt, but that was from a US site. Best thing to do is go and check or even ask them to show you the Headset.

There is a review for the new Socom headset on ign http://uk.gear.ign.com/articles/927/927711p1.html

Overall, the SCEA Bluetooth headset is the perfect solution for gamers looking for high-quality Bluetooth communication. The effortless integration and performance with the PlayStation 3 beats out any third-party alternative, and given that it can double as hands-free device for your cellphone, there is little more we could ask for in a Bluetooth device.

Can anyone that has the official BT headset give us an idea how much better it is than just a normal BT headset (or even an USB headset)...

Im gonna get it but need to see if there will be a WOW factor considering Ive got that Logitech USB headset (which is meant to be one of the best headsets anyway)...

TIA

ps3ud0

I've had my official headset on order for so long that i'm tempted to pop into town today and pick up that o2 one. Not too fussed about TV sounds, solong as I can hear the others playing.

Have you plugged the headset directly in to the PS3 via the mini USB port on top, above the power button, hidden under a flap? (I presume you are using the official Sony one? You don't say.)

Dunno if anybody is interested, but i use a jawbone bluetooth headset with the ps3.

I dont have any problems with it; they have just released version 2 of it. if anybody is interested i suggest they go to their website and view the demo. It uses military grade noise cancellation technology (or something like that!) so you dont hear any peripheral noise; the microphone rests on your jawbone and picks up the vibrations from it only. I just wish every muppet on psn would use one as i can always hear their music in the background which is very annoying indeed.

oh and it looks mint too, very trendy.

ive just bought this ^^ also have problems pairing it. Basically coz theres two ways to pair it.. (dont hold down power button or it will connect via bluetooth discovery mode)

firstly i plug it into my laptop usb slot to charge it (according to manual this should work!) but it doesnt coz the red light still blinks on and off (ie indicating charging)

should charging take longer than 4 hours?

its very comfy though :D dying to see whats its like though..

edit: ok its charged up ill try pairing it with ps3 later and test it with BAP fifa :D
