do you feel lucky?
would get a new one (in fact just got a new 320 PS3 w/ GT5) eventhough I have an old phat (laser drive died on me). if you account for bigger HDD and no need to fix every six months or so then it will be cheaper in the long run
it seems that the fixes are just temp and a lottery as to how long they will last. usually not that long from all the reading I did before deciding to just buy a new one. many on fleaby claim to sell "brand new laser" when in fact sony have stopped manufacturing these in 2008
, in reality they are refurbished lasers (brown or white
) and if you're lucky get a waranty it's no more than 3 months lol
hopefully the newer models are better designed than the first gen which is flawed design and thus doomed to break down and needing repair again and again.
funny how these more expensive "next gen" consoles seem to break down (my x360 RLOD as well) yet my old consoles still worked years after (megadrive, ps1, atari etc...) although must admit the games are outdated, esp on big screens.
