ps3 cod 4 flying hack

Can't ban the IP address as so few people have static IP's.

They won't ban machine ID's though, as that's a big step up from banning gamer tags.

They already do ban machine's from PSN. I do not know exactly how they determine how/why but it is doable and has been done before. IIRC there was a guy whose Machine got banned and he sued.

They should ban the cheaters on COD4 imo.

Tis true he tried to sue them as it was the only way he could talk to people outside lol.

LOL. Did he win? Do you know exactly how the banning works? I guess they ban accounts and machines, else you could log on your account elsewhere?

Wasn't aware that it had been done. As you mentioned, potential law suites are the main reason it's not normally done.

At a guess as each machine has its own serial number or may even use the MAC address link to a PSN ID all they would have to say is oh that ID is linked to that machine so we ban the lot. Its only in certain extremes though, have heard of people getting a temp ID ban, perm ID ban and in a few cases Machine and ID Ban.
 
You can obtain MAC addresses through IP addresses on Ethernet networds via the Address Resolution Protocol. Ain't too sure if Sony take this route but in I.T. we were able to gain MAC addresses from devices this way on TCP/IP.
 
They can just restrict the game save from being copied can't they? Like they did initially for Resident Evil 5 but since unprotected it.

Wouldn't stop the original owner doing this hack, Surely he made it possible so he'll be able to tell the whole world how it was made.

But didn't he have to copy the save game off to a PC so he could edit it? I'm not clear on how this hack was accomplished.
 
But if you can't get the save file off the PS3 because it's protected then you can't edit it on the PC. Do you follow me?
 
Just seen this happening on the 360 just this second, guy was invulnerable and flying around the map.

Gamertag was oO Graffiti Oo
 
Heheh, for some reason, I always want to kill players whose gamertag is a word surrounded with XxX or oO and things like that.
 
yeah i despise that too. I have never quite understood why. My only resoning being that they could have there name that some one else might have had. Still looks like utter crap. Just come up with something original ffs. Also hate ppl on live using 'oMg iTz'. Just retarded
