I will be getting a PS3 soon, and intend to run it on my Dell 2007 monitor...

Specs ->

- 1680 x 1050 Optimum Resolution
- 16.7 Million Colours
- 800:1 Contrast Ratio
- 16ms Response Time
- 300 cd/m2 Brightness
- One DVI-D Input w/HDCP Support
- One Analogue Input
- One S-Video Input
- One Composite Input

Am I right in thinking I need a HDMI to DVI connector to run it on this monitor?

For audio I have the regular red/white audio plugs (the same type as on component and composite) That I will plug in to a hifi system.

Can anyone tell me the cables I need? or link them (assuming they aren't a competitor)?

If you goto a supermarket they sell a HD connection lead, it consists of a HDMI lead and a HDMI to DVI convertor, think its under £20 so i dont think its to bad value and is pretty easy to find. There are probably cheaper ways to do this but this isnt a bad price and you can add points to your card !!!

Will I have any issues at all with a picture display or sound over the monitor? I also have another monitor that is 24 inch, with DVI but I don't think it supports the DVI-D (in other words, the thing that makes it basically the same as HDMI just minus the sound).

Does this mean that games would work at 1080P but blu ray movies wouldn't ?

I am a bit confused :P
