Hi there

I bought my PS3 just under a year ago, it came with a six axis controller and a cheap nasty blue tooth controller.

Just before Christmas the six axis stopped working, I've tried the reset procedure hold a pin into the small reset recess but it doesn't even light up even with the USB cable attached.

Santa brought me another new six axis controller and it's exactly the same, no lights on it with or without the cable attached - I know its not the USB port on the console and it's not the USB cable either as they both still work fine with the cheap nasty controller.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas what could be causing this?

Have to tried going into the PS3 settings menu from the XMB and resynching it there? Or have you tried a different cable?

I've got the same with one of my Sixaxis and my prized DS3. To this day I still cannot get either to work.

Because I imported the DS3, Sony won't fix or replace it. :(

First of all thanks for the replies guys

Excuse my ignorance here, XMB = GUI (Graphic User Interface)?

Yes I've tried resynching using the settings on the PS3's GUI - It allows me to change the amount of controllers connected but doesn't allow me the resynch. :(

Sorry to hear that KNiVES - My PS3 is UK spec, bought from a well known catalogue, yes I know they usually cost more from these sort of places but I had a large chunk of commission to use up and decided to treat myself. ;)

Either way it's not all bad - I've contacted them and they're picking up the console tomorrow, if they cant fix it they'll replace it with a new one :)

I initially posted wondering if anyone else had experienced the same problems, judging by the response it would appear not - I'll let you all know the outcome though :)

I have just had a similar problem pop up on my PS3. I cannot connect any controller via BT now - they only seem to connect and work via cable!!! I even tried my BT remote and it wont work or even synch with the PS3....

...tried googling it but with no joy!

HELP!!!

At what seems a wild guess, perhaps the bluetooth module in the PS3 has died? :)

Give Sony a ring, and they should be able to repair it.

Yeah, thats what i was thinking too but I kind of hoped it may have been something less serious!

I will call Sony tomorrow and see what they say. Problem is that I got this PS3 second hand so I'm entirely sure how old it is - think it's a launch one!!!

Bloody typical... I was on the phone to Sony explaining the problem to the guy and I just so happened to turn the console on and try it and everything works fine now!!!

Not that I'm complaining b ut it is a bit strange!

Just an update:

As I said previously they picked up the console true to their word, there was no arguments, no complications, no hassle which really surprised me considering I'd owned the console for a little under a year. I'm thinking as has been mentioned earlier in this thread the BT module in my original console died - they never explained to me what the cause was and I didn't ask. I'm just pleased its all sorted out with hardly any hassle :)

Two days after its picked up they credit my account with the full original value of my PS3. :)

Just yesterday my new 80GB (my original was 40) arrived, set it up last night and its all working fine - I'm just in the process of updating everything at the moment, if anyone has any decent links to themes it would be appreciated :p

Also if there's any other PS3 users want to add my PSN, its in my siggy :)
