I got it to work on vista 64bit but it was a bit laggy.
Best using a 360 pad.

Yeah I use mine all the time on my PC with no problems at all, other than sometimes having to configure it in the game I'm playing.
Unplug the PS3 controller
Download drivers from motioninjoy.com (0.400 w/ 360 emulation)
Download the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller drivers from Microsoft
Install the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller drivers
Run the installer program for the motioninjoy.com drivers
Plug in the PS3 controller
Go to Start->All Programs->Motioninjoy
Right click on "Install USB driver" and run as administrator
Finish the install
Restart computer and tap F8/F9 during boot
Disable driver signature enforcement
Enter Windows
Load up DS3 Tool and enable Xbox 360 Controller Emulation with Vibration on
Play games!

It might, I can't say for sure as my pad is a DS3.
