ps3 death

Turned on my ps3 this mornin, put in a movie and the ps3 made a grinding sound and the disc wont come out. =(
Tried to eject by holding the button down for 10secs, still no disc. =(

On the + side.. called sony, unit is being replaced on friday (and they'll post me the disc once they get it out of the unit).
Not bad considering its a release console ^^

On a side note.. my xbox 360 is still away at repair.. (3 weeks and counting)
Amazing how bad these products are considering i never move them, keep the room pretty dust free and have never had a console of any other gen die ><

The drive problem is becoming quite common. Well I say that i've heard of quite a few people have it happen to them me included

It's unfortunate, but of the errors on PS3, drive errors are the common ones.

Mine's a 60gb model (I think), the ones they don't do anymore, what would they replace mine with ?.

To be honest, this is quite poor from both manufacturers. I'd never heard of anyone's consoles breaking before this next gen era.
