Hello.
I want to back up my system (windows7) so I was going to buy an external HDD.
Then I remembered I had an old 2.5" sata 80gb drive from my PS3 when I took that out.
So I plugged that into the PC, didn't show up at first, so I opened administrative tools > Computer management > Disk, and saw the drive sitting in there.
Right clicked it and formatted and allocated max space on it and stuff, and gave it a letter, a soul.
The only difference between it, and my internal C: drive, is that under 'partition style', my normal C: drive is GUID partition table (GPT).
And the PS3 drive is now Mater Boot Record (MBR)
Im not sure if that means anything?
i've heard that the drives in PS3's are very strict, and even after formatting and what not, they can still be encrypted and stuff, i don't really know what that means.
Anyway my point is, would this external drive be reliable to use to backup my system, or, would you, yourself, go and buy a new external drie for this purpose?
Opinions would be great, thanks.
