After a driving game for the PS3,

Have tested Pro Street and hated it already had RR7 so whats any good thats either out or about to be released?

If you can, make a Japanese account and get GT5 Prologue or import it. I think the demo for it is still there, but not sure. Try the Burnout Paradise demo also. I thought it was fairly good.

Motorstorm is meant to be fun, but just an offroad arcade game.

Not sure if DiRT is on PS3 (Don't own one) or if you're into rallying/offroading?

Driving game of the year (imho :D) will be on PS3 this year.. Gran Turismo 5.

but all depends on what kind of driving game you're into?

GT5: Prologue for racing simulator (buy from Japan or wait for US/UK version).

DIRT or Motorstorm for fun racers.

Sega Rally can be bought now for £17.99 online atm which also isn't bad.

Ferrari Challenge in March and possibly Gran Turismo 5 Prologue at end of March. :)

Burnout Paradise coming up 25th of this month but i wouldnt class it as a serious driving game like others i have listed.

In rally genre you got

Colin McRae: DiRT
Sega Rally

Depends what kind your looking for really. :)

Oh yeah forgot about motorstorm had that a few weeks but wasn't as good as I hoped, I just ordered Sega Rally for £17.99, is GT5 in English if I import from the far east?

I find the PS3 seriously lacking in driving games..GT5P makes up a lot of the deficit, but it's a very 'limited' game as in it's just a cut down sim, and that's it, unless you love sims, it's of limited appeal..

Burnout Paradise however does look tempting, it's obvious Arcade fest central, but it seems to be getting good reviews and longevity is something mentioned frequently..

No in the imported GT5 prologue the menus are in japanese.
When you are driving the display is in english.
If you look at avforums the menus have been translated to english.
The game is very good if you like sims.

How many driving games does a console need to not be "seriously lacking in driving games"?

Off the top of my head you've got Ridge Racer, DiRT, Sega Rally, Motorstorm, GT5 Prologue, Formula One, All those Need for Speed efforts, and Burnout Paradise & Ferrari Challenge right around the corner.

To say its "Seriously Lacking" is a bit off imo, some great games there.

A long shot, but there's also Gripshift on the PSN store - it's good for a pick up and play game, where you just want to pass the time every now and again.

If I can only recommend one, then it would be DiRT.
A brilliant game, that looks great, and plays great.

If two, I'd also recommend F1, especially if you're into Formula One anyway, it's fast, frantic, and exciting fun (and frustrating at times too)

Motorstorm should always get a mention too.
Sure, I don't play it TOO often these days, but I do enjoy a session every now and then.

well thanks for all your input I've ordered Saga Rally as its only £17.99 new and going to try DIRT and I'll wait for the UK GT5
