Hi there,

I've been trying with no luck to stream files to my Ps3, i managed to get TV Versity to work for all of about an hour and i cant find it at all, the Ps3 see's nothing and so does my pc.

I'm using a Lynksys router which is quite old (BEFSR41), is there any forwarding or anything im missing. Also tried the nero thing but thats not seeing anything other than my router, WMP11 find no unknown devices etc.

UPnP is enabled in th router but the net test said it's not enabled.....although im pretty sure it did the time it worked for 5 mins.

Whhhhyyyy!!!!!!! :(

totally unrelated, are you the deathwish who used to play quake 3 arena for a clan called [QBB]....

I played Q3 all the time and heavily for about 5 years but never for a clan with those initials. :p

Anyone help me here? i've managed to get the upnp back on again but still cant see the ps3 on my PC.

I have TVersity working fine, make sure you allow (forward) port 41952 (or the port set in TVersity) on your router for the PS3 and computer.

I haven't really been able to stream but downloading (and converting) to the PS3 of DIVX/XVID files does work.

Also get the latest version 0.9.10.6 and select the PS3 as media playback device after installing in the setup.

It doesn't work that way. You get to see the media that resides on your PC on the PS3 via the network not the other way around. Can you see anything from the PS3 ?

These are the steps you need to do:
1) Install TVersity on the computer
2) Forward/open the port 41952 to the IP's of the computer and PS3 on your router
3) Run TVersity and add files/folders that you want to see on the PS3, also set the playback device in TVersity to PS3
4) Start the PS3 and it should automatically see the TVersity media server

Now you can try to stream the files directly or download/convert the files to the PS3, I think you have to convert and download DIVX files to MPG and download them to the PS3.

You can do this by uing the PS3's web browser and go to the site: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:41952/lib where the xxx's is the IP of the computer running TVersity, whan you click a videofile with the X-button on the controller and choose Copy it will convert the DIVX file to MPG and download it to the PS3 harddisk.

Thanks Dutch, i got the new version of Versity and opened that port and it's now working fine :D

Only thing is i cant do that thing you posted above using the url to get to the veristy files, i just get page cant be displayed, i've used the ip in my routes dhcp page.

Are you sure you used the IP of the computer running TVersity, not the external IP and not the PS3's IP ??

only 2 ip's listed in the router, one i know to be the ps3 from checking the net settings and the other has my pc name next to it, is there maybe something in tversity that needs enabling?

Maybe the link I posted isn't the correct one, I got it from internet as I am at work, I can check the link on the PS3 tonight to see if it is correct.

Try this link on the computer running TVersity to check if it working on the 'server': http://localhost:41952/

yup that works, in fact i've found my error! i was using / instead of : after the ip.... i should know better being a gamer.

it copied the file as mpg but still said it was unsupported =|

I got a lot of video corruption when playing vonverted DIVX/XVID files but after installing FFDShow the video files play perfectly

Also, did you select the PS3 as the target device in TVersity settings?

Sometimes the PS3 refuses to play video that does not have an audio track, again I think FFDShow will solve this.
