PS3 & Game Installs = HDD Too Small

Yeah the Nexstar 3 looks like it could be the PS3's little cousin, it looks superb next to it. :D

So have you got eSATA from the Xecuter HDXT to the eSATA connector on the Nexstar 3?

I can see why you'd do it, as it does look quite sexy... but hasn't getting the HDXT, Nexstar 3 and a 3.5" SATA HDD worked out more expensive than grabbing a regular external HDD or a 2.5" SATA HDD?

well, the drive and enclosure i already had so in that respect no, it olny cost me the price of the hdxt which was about £12 if i remember. however, the price saving really comes from getting a bigger drive. the 250gb 2.5" drives run about £60. i could get a faster 500gb 3.5" drive for that, but obviously with the cost of the enclosure it'd be about £35 more all in.

however, a 320gb 2.5" drive - nearly £100. so its a 320gb 2.5" internal, or a 500gb 3.5" external thats also faster for the same price. if you want a bigger drive, its pretty much a no brainer:) even if your buying it all new it's worth it for the storage space and speed. if you already have the enclosure well.... you'd get a lot more storage space for £100 lol 2/3 of a terrabyte more:p

Good thing the no NTFS thing was mentioned , I allready had the 320gb drive I was going to use formatted in NTFS after using it on my Rig :(. Luckily my 500gb Ext is still Fat32 so I'll be using that instead.

Thanks for the heads up !! Man this forum is too helpfull sometimes :D
