PS3 Game Invites

Where do they go to?

I fancied a race on F1 with a mate yesterday so i started a server and sent an invite to the game, but he couldnt find it to accept it. Again, he created a server and sent me an invite and i couldnt find it either.

Bit of an awkward system isn't it! Why couldn't Sony just copy Live's template.

Aye, it was never going to be as good as Live, I think they will improve things with updates etc though.

I hope so, i hate having to close a game just to see if a mate is online.

Ah well, the PS3 still has a lot of good offline games coming in the future, MGS4 is one example; I've given up on Sony ever putting effort into their online efforts, we all have 360s for that.

from what i hear within the next couple of updates xmb will be integrated into games so friends and messages can be accessed during games, next update is to include customisable wallpapers for xmb and access to sony connect for movie and music downloads supposedly

I agree this is 1 of the reason why i picked up a 360 yesterday as i love the live service

The Ps3 atm is more suited to single player games but you cant realy complain as the PSN service is free after all.

I am seriously trying to shed my PS3 hate skin, but I don't think it being free is an excuse to be honest. PC online gaming is free, with stuff such as Xfire and all that. Consoles need to step up to the online foray (which they should have done two generations ago!), and so far, only Microsoft is taking it seriously.

The XMB integration update does sound quite good though, let's hope it fills in the voids for many people looking to find a service similair to Live's. I've no doubt MS will keep trying to justify their sub service and will keep tarting theirs up no matter what. Sony has a lot of pressure on them, I think.

server based, lag free online gaming will console me through the wee small hours, as I forget to miss the fact that I can't see my friends list in game

Indeed, i was just playing in a 40 man server no lag what so ever
