PS3 + GTA4 problem...

I got the game yesterday afternoon, i must have played it for 5 hours straight with no problems. A mate came online and invited me into an online game, which i accepted. After an hour i went back to playing single player.

Today i turned it on to to find loading screens that never load anything and if i get in freezing and nothing.

Turns out if i sign out from PSN i can play the game with ease, no hassle. Then the moment i sign in its back to infinite loading screen or it freezes.

Anyone else experiencing this? Its not the PS3, it has to be the game doing this as its 7 days old and it's fine with everything else.
 
yea, just got to make sure im not signed into PSN to play.

Which really is pretty crap if you wanted to play a game online with a mate :/

Yea, i just find it weird that the first day i had the game i was able to play it while connected to the PSN. Seems like this problem developed after i accepted an online game last night.
 
I had loads of problems with gta iv freezing and locking up, especially during loading. I disabled UPNP in network options and this seems to have fixed it.
 
Same thing here, hangs and saves not loading unless the PS3 is offline (40GB here). Only want to play single player at the moment so it's not a big deal now we know the solution.
 
Oh no i know how to sign out ive had to so i can play...just really anoying that i cant play online..:mad:
