PS3 Help

The ps3 is great for folding but I'm having a hard time justifying leaving mine on 24/7. You can generate roughly 900ppd with a ps3 but I understand the power draw is 200watts. I can get a comparable ppd running the smp client on my mac at <100watts.

Just my 2p. And I'm a cheapskate so take that into account too.

Your mac is very ecconomical, didn't realise thier power consumption was so low. Jleo potters of to find a wiki on Ohm's law

resistance is futile - and I don't think ohm's going to help you validate the differences in power consumption from PS3 to Mac.

Both look might impresive when compaired to my office P4's (~240w for 200ppd) or Oc'ed 805D (~475w for 600ppd) or C2D winSMP (180w for 600ppd) but my home C2D linux (250w for 2000ppd) get close.
Ok it's not a fair comparison due to client limitations but still.

PS2 4.5ppd/w (900/200)
C2D 3.3ppd/w (600/180) WinSMP 2610 (all I ever get)
805D 1.3ppd/w (600/475) 2x standard

Ohh and by the way I didn'y say lay.... even if it was implied. If the duck swallowed and egg whole where would it exit?
