Due to get a new playstation just after christmas and i was ideally wanting to stick a 1tb drive in it. Ive seen a few floating about but im a bit iffy on the physical sizes of the drives.

Has anyone managed to fit a 1tb drive into one yet and if so which one because theres a nice western digi im looking into but it looks like its roughly a mil and a half too big to fit.

Cheers in advance guys

have a look on youtube. theres a really good guide explaining all the ins and outs and what type to get aswell as how to intall it etc.

It needs to be a 9.5mm high drive. I'm guessing you've seen an 11mm drive, which from everything I've ever read is too big for the PS3.

I'm fairly positive that a 1TB hard drive is too big to fit in a ps3, i think i read somewhere a while ago that 640gb was the largest one that definately fit but my ps3 died shortly after, so needless to say i didn't get round to buying one.

the 750gb is the biggest to fit in atm i believe, like other peps have said the other drives are just slightly bigger
why do u need the size though?

Yes, it has to be a 9.5mm high drive, a 12.5mm drive will not fit.
Also there is little benefit going for a 7200rpm drive compared to a 5400rpm drive.
