Hi guys, have recently purchased a PS3 and want to get it online - I'm not a PC wizard, so forgive the layman's terms used!

My PC is connected to the 'net, via a Webstar USB 100 Series cable modem, on Virgin Media.

From this LAN, I have shared it to allow the PS3 to link via an ethernet cable from my PC to the PS3.

I have entered the settings onto the PS3, it "succeeds" in finding the IP address, but the error 80710102 shows - relating to a DNS error.

I have fiddled about and now am lost where the correct information goes

Can anyone shed any light for me please? I can provide all the DNS numbers etc as required.

Much obliged

have you run the network setup wizard on the computer to allow it to share the net connection properly??

why not get youself a router mate because if you want to use it for online gaming and things your gonna have to leave your computer on all the time, were a router will handle the connection and can also allow you to do it wirelessly!!
