Hello everyone.

I am having a bit of an issue with my PS3. Since Saturday when i start the PS3 up i get "Cannot Start. The correct hard disk was not found". This happens before it gets to pick account screen. So this is the first thing i see.

After i turn the PS3 off 2/3 time's this message will be gone and the PS3 will start up normally.

Anyone got any idea's?

Sounds like it could have a dodgy HDD in it, maybe check its seated correctly? - Although tbh I'd just give Sony a ring and swap it for another.

Yea that's what i was thinking. And it's only 2months old :*( was bought just before Christmas.

Unfortunately HDD's can go at any time, very delicate bits of hardware with the moving parts etc. You've been unlucky.

Give Sony a call mate, their customer service is apparently very good :)

Hehe. Ill have to see about that customer service in a couple of day's or something then :D.

Thnx for your help.

Reminder people. Back up your game saves to a USB key. I'd die if my disk crashed and I lost my Oblivion saves.

If it's the connector on the inside of the PS3 then a new HDD wouldn't fix it, it would only be more expense for the same problem. Get the existing one working first (which is big enough).

Second that ice1male. I have dedicated so much of my life to playing this game and would consider suicide if I lost my saves. I back up at lease twice a week. :)
