PS3 L2 & R2 Triggers

It's not fact... I mean people like Streeteh, Inoshishi and rp2000 don't like the add ons.

I'm not a fan either. Same old story, People prefer the trigger extensions and say its a fact they are better with :p

When as usual, It's down to the person holding the pad.

So rather than facts, This thread is going to be all about opinions, and the only way the OP is going to know if they are an improvement, Is if he buys a pair.

Frapple. Think about the way a gun trigger curves -That's how the 360 pad does it; but the triggers on the PS3 pad curve in a different way, so I guess it doesn't really feel as 'right'.

Anyway, what I want to know is why some people don't like them?

Thinking about buying these...

Anyone got them AND NOT like them? Basically looking for a reason to not buy them, if anyone can provide one?

Thx

This is a post I made back when they we're giving them away with PSM magazine, they basically transformed the pad for me, I wasn't enjoying playing any game that used the triggers but after whacking this baby's on I've never looked back, it changes the feel of the whole pad as you don't have to hold it in strange positions anymore to stop your finger/s slipping of the trigger/s,

The standard triggers? They are too small and your fingers can easily slip off the bottom of them depending on the game you are playing.

IMO, the fact the most PS3 FPS and 3rd person shooters choose to have Fire/Shoot on the R1 button speaks volumes, never known that on any other game for another console that has a pad with triggers.

Edit - or are you talking about Real Triggers? :o

this happened to my friend, big PS3 fanboy, bought the PSM magazine that had these triggers, he tried them once and then took them off and put them in a drawer.

A few weeks later im over at his house looking for some cable in the drawer and found those triggers, i was shocked, why the hell wasnt he using them?? He didnt have an answer, so i made him put them on the controller again and try using them again. He hasnt taken them off since and swears by them

some people are just afraid of change, something new and 3rd party. Fair enough, but these triggers are definitely absolutely an improvement and those that say otherwise are just slow and will probably secretely convert to using them later on when they realise everyone else is using them for a good reason: they ARE the right shape for a trigger

I am slow. I never realised before you mentioned it, but it all makes sense now. I am going to secretly convert to using them and not tell anyone next Thursday at 9pm.

I am also converted, how could i not see this before!

I don't like them, i explained why in a previous post, i gave them a good week of use before i decided i just couldn't play warhawk and MGO with them and then sent them on to someone else.

(Streeteh in 'zomg people have different preferences' shocker)

Everytime I use my other six-axis when my DUal shock + triggers is out of power I get very very annoyed and don't bother to play. They are invaluable, especially for driving games, plus they reduces the strain on your index/middle fingers so you can play for longer. But most importantly they give you more feel over the shoulder buttons.

Now I need to find the 2nd set I have somewhere for the other controler.

I don't have any problem with the normal triggers really, not sure if its worth me bothering to try these.

One thing I discovered while fiddling with the existing triggers is that L2 on my Dualshock 3 doesn't release smoothly, it goes most of the way out sticks, then jumps the rest of the way with a little *tap* noise. Feels slightly loose compared to R2 as well.

Thanks L2 + R2 trigger covers, I probably wouldn't have noticed if it weren't for you *shakes fist*

I have got me a pair of these 'real triggers' off the flee market for £8 :) Lovely little things they are; I don't see what's not to like really. They reduce the stress on your fingers because of the better resting position and the reduced amount of down-movement required when pressing.

It says Availability: back in stock in 21 days, and on another site they're due for release in mid june :/

They must have sold like hotcakes. I snapped two sets up before the price had gone up. Even though it was just an extra pound. ¬_¬

Which was ironic, as the next day the availability went to 21 days as you said. It was bad enough waiting for its release as it is. I think they were announced January... I'm glad they are selling these as OEM. As the retail set comes with that silly metal armour plate that costs more.

I had been after these for sometime. They are so awesome for driving. I love these little Playstation add-on accessories.
