Hey all,

Connected the PS3 to the Wireless network (no security), all works fine when it does a connection test but then after about 2-3mins I get a pop up saying "you have been disconnected from the access point"

It will reconnect fine, and I can load the WWW browser, but then SAME PROBLEM again! :(

I've tried setting a static IP, using an auto detect but nothing works for longer than 2 minutes (if that).

Anyone got a suggestion??

Perhaps the servers are just overloaded by the number of people who.............no hang on that can't be right :D

Sorry mate, couldn't resist :)

No, it's the PS3 connection to my Access Point.

Seems a lot of people are experiencing it

im downloading the update via my ps3 as i type and its going fine albeit v slowly and has been for 5-10 minutes and im using wireless

Anyone know the url for downloading the uk 1.6 update? keeps crashing over the ps3 wifi connection and I want to put it on a usb stick instead.

Just change the us. to uk. in the url :)

I've found out that this wireless access point issue is quite wide spread!

Tried my brothers PS3 in my parents house and it works fine, once I rule out my hardware then I'm trying mine there tomorrow.

How close to the access point are you?

I've noticed the wireless in the PS3 is rather weak. It says a signal strength of 30% whilst my computer (just beneath the PS3) has a signal strength in the 90's.

PS3 is 20ft in a straight line...

The signal strength is fluctuates 90% - 100% as there is no obstacle in the way and the Access Point is in perfect line of sight of the PS3

Really starting to P me off now!.. It connects and says "succeeded" when I do the test, but 10-30 secs later I get an error saying I've been disconnected from the Access Point
