hi I have noticed at the moment I can only share file which are in "My Documents" on the pc. Is there any way I can share other folders as I'd rather not copy every file I want to share to that folder? I am using windows media player to share.
Thanks

wow, just setup this ps3mediaserver program and it worked straight away after a reboot of the ps3, had so much trouble with all the others either not finding ps3, or listing folders but no avi's, ect, ect, and this worked 1st time.

thanks for the info! (insert jesus pic here, lol)

I just gave this PS3 Media program a go and am impressed so far. However, I keep getting a message when I try to play certain media telling me that the data is corrupted. Is this because the files (mostly just being mpegs etc) aren't supported?

Should the software transcode this so it plays on the PS3 or something?

I just gave Tversity a try and it works better for me. Every single file I try to access on the PS3 plays fine and the transcoding seems pretty fast when it's used.

I don't think I have the rights codecs installed for the PS3 media server program to properly run so will probably stick with this Tversity myself. It all beats wmp 11 though that's for sure.

I thought it did? But I couldn't confirm this off the top of my head.

All the files I have play natively on the PS3, so I'm not really sure.

I have all sorts of obscure video files that the PS3 won't recognise without the transcoding part. FLVs need transcoding to be playable on the ps3 for example.

I started with TVersity, but now just use the windows media server itself, it's rare that a file won't work since the PS3 supports so many formats now.
The only problem is mkv files, but mkvtovob is a magical friend who deserves a christmas card every year.
