It's.... huge and apprently extremely heavy.
 
The picture comparison i wanna see is the PS3 next to a george forman grill because to me all thats missing off the front of a ps3 is the lid handle.

Don't really care what they look like to be honest or how heavy it is. I spend my time looking at the creeen and dont carry it about when I'm gaming.
 
I think I'll wait for them to do a slim PS3 before getting one.I don't have the space on my TV stand for the PS3 :(.
 
Why does everyone think there will a slim PS3? Took ages for Sony to bring out a slim version of the PS2. With all the new technology thats in the PS3 there might not be any way of making it slimer. It more than likely that size for a good reason.

No one is saying anything about waiting for a 360 until that comes out slimer..

I know there are people on here who have their consoles on show at all times but more people have them stuffed away in some sort of cabinate or racking system and so eliminates the need for a good looking console. Personaly I couldnt give a monkeys about what it looks like.

Like dannyjo22 said two posts above this one.. He/she spends the time looking at the screen and never carries the console around while playing..

I cant get my head round why people are so upbeat about what it looks like and wanting a slimer version.. You want to wait? could be 6years from now.

While all us that dont care what it looks like will be having fun playing loads of great games you will be waiting and waiting, biting the inside of your mouth all becasue you are so stubborn..

No perticular camp here.. I like MS and Sony

Still makes me mad when people still moan about the size.. You never heard of people saying the same thing about TV`s do you.

Can you imagine this. Someone with a 21" CRT wanting a 50" Plasma saying its too big I will wait till a slim line version comes out.:p

Ok that was a crappy example. But you should get my drift.
 
Fugly, but I wont be buying one anyway so don't really care, possibly one day if they do a slimline one for about £150 and there is at least 10 absolute stonking games out for it, but that might be some time!
You rich sonly lovers can ugly up your bedroom/livingroom with as many of them as you like! :D

why is the controller the same, they needed to make an effort with that, the 360 controller is excellent, far better than the dual shock IMO, and we all know about the Wiimote and nunchuck, which looks like if done well it could be awesome.

Not so bothered about the Wii but I agree with the PS controller. The 360 controller is much better imo.


Still cant see how getting a PS3 will ugly up peoples bedrooms and living rooms.

Mine will be enclosed in a unit of some sort..

yep hide it away! I was expecting some flames from the sony lovers that was quite restrained. Bring on the heat! :D

I'm going to reserve judgement onthe PS3, with the launch titles so far it offers nothing to me, when it does I will consider one. you can't just keep making the graphics better and better, the games need to be origonal and good, Graphics has no bearing on your fun at all, its just nice to have good graphics.

I'll take a risk on the wii as it offers something new, and I think it will be great! Never normally a nintendo lover, always had playstations, but the DS converted me. The 360 scratches the graphics itch, and has a lot of excellent games already out, and a lot on the way! The PS3 has a lot of catching up to do.

Was this meant to be sarcastic or was it a dig at me saying I would have it enclosed in a unit thus hiding away the so called uglyness of the PS3.

Plus you mentioned you was "expecting some flames from the sony lovers that was quite restrained" Does this mean I have flamed you but my post was restrained in some sort of way?

If this is so. Then I am sorry to say I wasnt flaming you or am I in any way a sony lover.

Don't get Dead Rising - I'm sick of people telling me how great it is - and I don't have a 360 :(
 
i would like to see a pic of xbox 360 + powerpack and a PS3 as i bet they are both pretty much the same size. Just sony decided to have it all in one unit. And then see 360, HD-DVD drive and power pack next to a PS3 :D Since a recent survey of ocuk'ers showed a majority planned to get an HD-DVD add on lol
