Hey!

I have a PS3 original.

When I put a game in, nothing happens. Auto disc start is enabled.

When I click on "Game" a message is displayed which reads: "No Game Data".

I've had a look around and been told it's very likely that the laser has gone, so, I've ordered and fit a new laser (Kem 410 aca - correct model for my console) and... 'newts changed. The message still shows...

I've done all the resets etc.

Do you think it might be a faulty laser?

Thanks, Tous :)

... I wouldn't mind..., but In anticipation of "The Repair" I'd bought a few games and a 'flippin monitor...

What exactly is it that your clicking on when you get that message? When you are in the 'Game' column of the XMB what options do you have? Have you tried downloading a demo from the Store and see if they run OK?

Game Data is a 'folder' on the game section of the XMB, does that show on your system?
Do you see the game icon on the XMB?

Hi Dutch Guy

Thanks for replying.

I've sorted it. I don't think it was the laser after all. (still not sure though).

I took the section off that accepts the disc (gear bit), pratled around with it a bit -partially put it back together.

Then I plugged it in (left the tops off) kept gently putting the game in and out and noticed it didn't seem to go in properly, I fiddled about with it and it just started working.

So I think the problem was probably more to do with the part that accepts the discs.

I'm so chuffed it's sorted. and feeling quite pleased with myself I have to say! :D

:eek:>>>>> Just one thing though I was REALLY CAREFUL WHEN I WAS MESSING AROUND WITH IT WHILE IT WAS PLUGGED IN so if anyone else does this BE CAREFUL<<<<<:eek:
