PS3 Not working

Well went to watch a DVD on it last nite and it wouldn't load, reset it and sony said please sent the fault details so i did, restarted tried to get Mw2 to work, just froze up after intro screen, tried a demo and DL game nothing works, it will let me access front screen but nothing more.... any1 got any idea's on how to fix this.....

I rang sony and they said reset it back to factor settings which i'm doing now, its out of warrenty and i'm worried i wont be able to get it working again?

Also if i do buy a new PS3 when i log in as user name will it bring up my DOwnloaded games i.e beta BFBC2 and 1943 or will i have to downlaod them again?

im pretty sure there was a way to transfer all the content from one console to another in the latest update, im not 100% on it tho

You can copy the games to a new console with a big enough memory stick or hard driver, or you can download them again.

More to the point WTF am i gona do about my broken playstation, i bought it 1yr and half ago. its outta warrenty, i cant believe it, when ispend £300+ on a system i expect it to work longer than a year surely!!!

Sorry to thread hijack,but the last couple of times I have booted my PS3 the start up music plays then stops then carrys on playing. What is that all about?

Have you rung Sony yet though, they might be sympathetic and fix it anyway?

YEah i rang them and am currently doin what they have told me to do, i cant see it working tho...

But yeah i'm gona really lay it on with them, be Nice and all needy at the start then if they say no... write to them

Pheeeew panic over, i did a complete system reset and it seems to have sorted the problem out, must have had sumin dodgy in there.... weird as hell that i will be honest!

This one always baffles me – surely we, i.e. consumers who have purchased said expensive kit, have enough rights through the SoGA to ensure we get replacements/fixes for free :confused:

Or does law simply state we are entitled to X and Y but is gray on the fees?
