been playing on my pannny 42" bu just got myself a full HD 24" lcd and the ps3 looks very nice on it indeed. infact i think i prefer it on the smaller screen

what do you think is the optimum screen size?

it makes sense. if the tv is 1080p then the pixels will be smaller thus making the image look much crisper than a 42" which will have to stretch them to fit the screen.

I plugged my 360 into a 19" LCD (1440x900) with component and I much preferred it over my 32" HDTV (1360x768). I think a 24" 1080p screen is optimal.

Like the OP I much prefer a smaller screen. Something about it gives me greater focus when gaming. I must have failed "Da Bomb" trophy on WipEout HD 40 odd times on the 62" in the living room. Soon as I get my PS3 back into my room on my S2409W, first time without even comming close to failing.

yes i get it now, nice on the 24" in study but its also nice relaxing on sofa playing on the panny :) when shes got eastenders on

Bigger the better, yes of course a smaller screen will look visually better as it isnt stretched out but prefer 52 over the 46, would go bigger if i could.

You may find this is a lot to do with your 62" screen having more lag then your 24" LCD...

I love playing my PS3 (Slim) on my Sony 26 KDL T3000 great lcd perfect , not to keen playing on a larger screen :)

For some reason i cant play games on a large screen , i was thinking about upgrading to Sony 32

should have lost two inches and got a 60 inch Pioneer kuro.:p

I play my 360 on a small 19" HDTV. Sometimes I bring it downstairs and plug it into the 42" Plasma in the living room. For some reason though I much prefer the 19" to play on, and it's even a cheapo Goodmans one compared to a much better Panasonic plasma. No doubt the plasma has a better picture quality, but I just can't get into the game properly oddly.

The smaller screen means I sit pretty close to it on a computer chair compared to 7ft away on a sofa on the big screen. I perform a lot better and enjoy the games much more when I'm close up, yes I could move closer to the big tv, but meh, I like my small one. Just feels more right.

Probably why I don't play games on my ps3 since it's on the big screen for blu-rays mainly.

They got it free as a legal blooper a couple of years ago. Still wouldn't trade their 62" for my S2409W. Best £170 I've spent yet :D

Fare enough:). Spare a thought for my friend Alan, I caught him a while back playing FF7 on a black and white portable six inch TV lol:D how depressing is that:(.

I was saying a while ago that 360's and PS3's will look pants on TVs over 28inch but people cried about what I said even though it's true.

Play my Ps3 on a 42" panasonic plasma, not tried it on anything smaller... Might try it on my PC monitor and see if it looks better...

TBH quite happy with the display on my 42".... Think I can see what everyone is saying mind. Smaller screen would in theory result in a crisp and sharper display, as the pixels would need to be crammed more to fit....

You can see this with the PSP, the smaller screen makes the games look quite decent, plug that into a 42" plasma - it'd look rather poor I'd say. In fact PS3 XMB in remote play on a PSP does look sharper come to think of it.
