Ok, so I just got changed, went and sat in the car ready to drive to town to go pick a PS3 up.

Then I thought hang on a mo. Enough is enough. Why do I need another console to add to my 360, wii, 2 x xbox 1's and a PS2? There just isnt enough time in the day. So I got out of the car and came back inside.

So why do I need a PS3? That is the question.

Richie.

Go buy it. :p

Doooo it.

Only reason you need a PS3 is Bluray and games. If you want the games and want Bluray go for it.

If you don't..Then don't.

...But go on, You know you wanna...

Sounds like a dose of 'need a new toy' syndrome.

Only one solution...

Go buy it, have that tang of guilt and foolishness as you type in your pin, come home and have a great night.

I was looking at Wii's t'other day. I know the novelty will wear off within a week but I still can't resist.

It’s a real shame that Sony has managed to mess up the European launch of the PlayStation 3 so badly. We’re getting the console late, we’re paying through the nose for it and we’re not even getting the same hardware as Japan and America – with that in mind it’s tough for me to recommend that anyone buy one at this point in time.

But like I said, it’s a shame, because the PlayStation 3 really is an impressive piece of kit. This really is so much more than just a games console, and it really could be that digital entertainment hub that Sony would have you believe it is. And it really does have the potential to be a truly great gaming platform. As things stand though, Sony has managed to make the PlayStation 3 look like the least attractive next generation console, when it really shouldn’t be."

I suffer from this syndrome, it's very annoying!

I want one, but I don't.

go buy one.... i have to wait for mine to be delivered tomorrow...... wish i hadn't pre-ordered one now cos i'd have gone out and got one this morning!

Nope. Wait for a price drop. I want a PS3 to complete my collection of a 360, a Wii, 2 x Xbox, a PS2 slimline and a GC (oh and my daughters DS Lite).
I can afford one too.
I even have 2 good HD TV's.

But I hardly get time to play the 360, if I got a PS3 I'd hardly have time to play that either. I'm waiting for a Xmas pricedrop and a better raft of games.

i've considered getting a ps3 i only have a ps2 and pc at the moment. I looked at the ps3 price £425 will get me the console alone. So i decided to look at how much 360 stuff I can get for the same price.

I can get for £410

XBox 360 Premium Console & Gears Of War & Crackdown
Splinter Cell 4: Double Agent
Official XBox 360 Wireless Controller
Saints Row
WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2007
Quake IV

I totally understand why people are opting for the ps3 and I know there's been much debate over which looks better but if i were to splash the cash today i'd go for the 360. i'd be getting more for my money.

You can get that deal for about £340 if you know where to look.

Who in their right mind would pay those prices?

Not everyone want's HD-DVD/Blu-Ray either.

I would prefer the choice.
Will still get a PS3 at some point though, just need to get over my 'need a new toy' syndrome right now and try to wait until the PS3 has a better games catalogue :)

You'd be a mug to buy at those prices . Your reporting is as reliable as a freelance tabloid... or a Jack Thompson lawsuit

Here's some RL prices (i.e. WHAT I PAID)

Premium Console Bundle (inc extra controller and 3 games) - £290
Wireless adapter - £60
Quick Charge Cradle + extra battery - £20
HD DVD Player - £130 (didn't get one, but included for a balanced comparison)
Total : £500

And as I've said before - it's not about the badge - IT'S ABOUT THE BLANKING GAMES!!!
