PS3 or PC

What would you choose for unreal tournament 3 when it comes out and Call of Duty 4? Im just thinkin will the internet play on the ps3 be absolute rubbish

I'm loving CoD4 online on the PS3 it's brilliant and highly addictive and thats coming from a PC Gamer since 1993

Guess theres a couple of things to take into consideration.

1. Do you prefer FPS's with Mouse and Keyboard or PS3 Pad?
2. Will your PC run it as well as the PS3 (looking at your sig i'm sure it'll run fine

)
3. Price of the game on both formats, 99% of the time cheaper on the PC

The choice is yours!

Except for console exlusives I buy all my FPS games for PC because 1) Keyboard and mouse, 2) Community support, 3) Games are supported longer on the PC (Counterstrike), 4) There usualy £15 cheaper

Yeah if you have the hardware which the OP does to run these games then makes sense to get it on PC IMO, the console games are great though if you don't fancy upgrading an ageing PC and have to play it on low details, such as me

PC, definitely. The PS3 pad is awful for FPS games, so I'd take a M&K and play other M&K users (as opposed to lots of joypad users on PS3).

It really bugs me that I'd much rather play these sort of games on PC, but my mates have a mixture of 360 & PS3 and I want to be able to play against them.........yet I'm buggered if I'm buying 2 or 3 copies of the same game and then spend ages ranking up just to compete!

I don't mind playing on Xbox360, so I'd always get it on that first because of all the people I know on here and IRL who have a 360. Some have PS3's but the controller is nasty for FPS games, so I'd have PC second and PS3 third.

As it stands I can't play it on any, so think yourself lucky!

PC without a doubt unless its exclusive to a console format (Halo 3 for e.g) with the op's spec it would be silly to consider it on a console imo.

ehh? If this were just about a generic fps or whatever then my answer would always be PC but..

its about UT3 which has keyboard and mouse functionality for the PS3
so ps3 for this un if you are willing to buy the keyb+mouse combo that IS going to be available for this game.

Agree with what your saying about UT3, but I think the OP was being more general, as he mentioned CoD4 too.

Not at all, because there will always be more people playing with joypads on the PS3 than M&K users, so the opposition for the most part won't be great and therefore, not offering the same challenge.

I'm hoping they do something that chucks the gamepad users on certain servers, and the mouse and keyboard users on other servers, and then have like mixed servers for the gamepad users who are feeling brave

Depends on the spec of the PC.

With yours, I'd definately go PC over PS3 for those two games.

Hmm this is a hard one as you can use a mouse and keyboard for UT on PC & PS3, which is a requirement for all FPS unless it's exclusive to the console.

I'm gonna have to go with PC. Multiplayer will last longer as console gamers aren't dedicated to a particular game usually. The voip options are better, you can upgrade your pc even more in the future (if your spec won't handle the max graphics) whereas you cannot with a ps3.

However, don't forget UT mods are also available for the PS3.

I would generally say PC, but after playing COD4 there is a sense of enjoyment using a pad that I cant explain. I dunno, generally I dont think the two can really be compared as theyre two different styles, which would mean servers would deffo have to be split, as clearly a mouse is more accurate, but the pad offers different sense of play that im quite fond of. Or am i just chatting ****?

PC

PS3 has M/KB use anyway, so the decision based on control scheme is a bit pointless. I would pick PC only for the graphics fidelity.
