Ewww micro USB on the top

bloody annoying - :|

USB isn't normal? its a universal standard! Infact you will probably be able to use any A-B USB cable you have lying around, since it uses a standard connector.

I don't understand why Sony have a really expensive console (aimed at older people with a job??) yet they keep this small controller, your hands ache using the thing

why can't they use a normal cable like everyone else is all :/

Typically get a similar cable with cameras, really short leads :(

USB can transfer data along a cable up to 4m long? and i dont even know if this will need to carry data or just power so still dont see the problem tbh

i'm glad they decided to withdraw the banana pad, and stick to the old pad
been playing a lot on 360 and the 360 pad is good, but the ps2 pad is the best in gaming history
the new pad minus rumble will be a blow but i'm looking forward to tilt function

I think the opposite to that, though the banana pad wasnt that great looking (never held one :D lol), i think it was a better idea than what they've stuck with :p

iirc USB A Plugs are the Flat type and USB B plpugs are the square type.

Those are a 3rd type that I just really dislike :p

I'd have thought they'd go for the same option MS did, where you'll only need the cable to charge the controller, meaning you don't need to worry about data being sent. I don't get why people are moaning about the cable type, it's just a cable, it'll charge the controller.

Fair point mate, but I think in reality that particular type of USB connection is prone to become 'loose' over a period of time. If they'd stuck to the original 'spade' connector then ok, but the one they've gone for with it having such a small lug I'm sure may waggle out during charging.

Might not of course, just my opinion, but we have barcode scanners we supply to customers that use the same connection and the customers moan like hell about the cable coming out after a few month.
