Anyone else got a problem with the PS3 sizzling a bit if you move it slightly? The power cable doesn't fit in too well on mine and the slight knock makes it sizzle a bit.

Bit worrying anyone else got the same?

havent noticed on ps3 (dont think ive ever moved it when on ) but my pcs have always done what you describe . think its just kettle leads in general

Mine fits pretty snug tbh, but sizzling does suggest lose cable - not making full contact. Hammer it in?? :p

I think its when electricity jumps to the metal connectors if there's a gap.

May be wrong.

My xbox does the same when i pull the kettle lead out of the brick.

Oh god you was right I just pushed it as hard as I could and it finally popped in, it's in nice and tight now. No pun intended. :D

Sparking indicates a loose connection as you've already gathered. No new product should spark so easily and so it isn't normal for your PS3 to do this.

This is because the IEC connector is wiggling and causing it to spark

Happens if you wiggle any IEC connector.. if it's that loose I'd consider buying your own or perhaps asking Sony to replace the PS3, although I don't know what they'd say to that.
