PS3 Pre-Orders

actually we are having some cancelled as there is not quite the rush the other consoles had so people are worried they won't be able to sell them for mega profit!
 
Not on about the scammers chap. I've noticed at least 6 posts saying they've gone and pre-ordered this week and the local stores around me with 200+ allocation have now stopped taking launch day pre-orders.

Funny really.
 
I have bit the bullet and going to pre-order 1 this afternoon, the inderpendant shop im getting 1 from has 1 in store now so i can have a play :D
 
Strange how all the big online stores are still guaranteing (sp?) launch day delivery, and I can still walk into any game store in Lincoln and pre-order one.

200 allocated to a shop? I doubt it.
 
The number of times I pre-ordered, cancelled, re-pre-ordered is just not funny.

At the end of the day, though, the lure of having a nice shiny new toy on the day of release has just proved too much.

Actually quite looking forward to it now. Although do feel like we're getting a bit of a raw deal.
 
Why bother pre-ordering, when you can get a 360 now!

Sony lost my custom on this one months ago. Got a 360 and have not looked back.

For all their faults, at least Microsoft was able to ship 360's to everyone, and gave everyone the chance to buy the same machine!

Apart from the fact that Microsoft werent able to ship 360's to everyone on launch, and it was many months before you could walk into a shop and buy one.

Dont let the facts get in the way of your fanboism though :p

I think he meant ship to everyone as in worldwide launch.

Well don't cos I'm number 212 in as local shop. :D

Local 4 letter store is getting 120 and the smaller branch 30, both of which have sold out launch day allocations too.

360? yeah, there was no problem getting one of them on launch day/week/month was there??!!!???!!! :confused:

I think the point he was making is that at least it was a global release.

If you take the PS3's worldwide release as being back in November, then it's taken a good 4 months for it to become readily available here.
 
Oh right. Fair dues then.

Can't help thinking the 360's worldwide release was a shambles though, £800+ for 360's on the bay, faulty units taking ages to replace etc etc.

I kinda think it's a good thing (in a bizarre way) that with the PS3's staggered release, we can at least walk into most shops and still get one for release day no?

Pricey, yes, ripped of in EU, yes but do I still want one? Oh YES!! Getting the buzz now. Time will tell if it's deserved. Either way, for me at least, it's the cheapest way into Blu-Ray films even of the games turn out to be rank for a while.
 
I decided to pre order mine tonight on my way home.

Midnight launch! Got Friday off so its cool!

Pub - game shop - kebab - taxi - home :D
 
i cancelled my Amazon preorder few days ago after seeing a few online shops offering much cheaper price preorder. I felt that i'm paying too much so decided to sit back and wait for a few months. I think the price will probably goes down quickly and will be able to get one at much cheaper than £425
