Hi there

Just a quick question regarding the PS3.

Does the PS3 come with all the cables you need to plug straight the Dell 24" S2409?

Will it be ok playing on this LCD? Any pro's or con's?

Thanks

Edit: Will a PS2 controller work on the PS3 without an adaptor?

no youll need a hdmi to dvi cable and something to work the sound, i just plug into my hi-fi with the component cable supplied and i get great sound from that

and no with regards the controller

You just need an HDMI cable for video, but you will not get this with the PS3 in the box, so you will need to buy one, don't spend more then £10 though, it isn't necessary.

Audio wise, it depends on your setup... what are you using for sound currently?

The Dell 24" S2409W has hte following in its specs:

Connectivity
Content Protection (HDCP) Video Graphics Array (VGA)
Digital Visual Interface - Digital (DVI-D) with High Definition

So that is okay yes if i get a HDMI to DVI connector.

For sound I use Sennheiser SK Gaming headphones PC160 with my PC.

Thanks

Yep that will work, although as someone said already that monitor also has an HDMI port so you can just use a straight HDMI cable too, and leave the DVI for connecting it to your PC (if that's your plan, of course).

you could buy a "PS2 to PS3 Controller Adapter" for your ps2 controller

Actually I bought a Sega Saturn 6 button pad from Japan few years ago that connects straight to the PS2. It has the PS2 connector on the end of the cord but is otherwise an identical Sega Megadrive 6 button pad. This is what I wanted to connect to the PS3 so I can play SF4 with the good old 6 button Megadrive pad ;) Should work I presume with a PS2 to PS3 adaptor.
