ps3 "real triggers" - how to get more?

Are they worth buying then? Might pick the mag up if they are worth the purchase, I take it they are stuck to the front of the mag?

All these mags have sealed plastic covers in these days, and within that there was a smaller plastic sealed bag with the triggers. I don't use them tbh, I have stuck them onto my old sixaxis controller. Maybe they will be more useful in COD4 (can't remember if that uses triggers or shoulders to fire).

What the hell is it with shoulder buttons to fire on PS3 games? I was annoyed in Uncharted because I couldn't remap the controls and UT3 defaulted to shoulder buttons instead of triggers.

Is this some kind of crazy trend to not use triggers as triggers?

Bizarrely I think I am used to it now. Much less effort required to press in an FPS game as opposed to using triggers for instance (for which I assume the buttons just act digitally). The triggers are better for racing games.

i can see what rp2000 is saying, but i agree with wyrdo... the triggers on controllers are called that due to their similarity to gun triggers...

kinda follows that they should be used to trigger things... and with these "real triggers" they feel even more like a gun style trigger :)

But a trigger on a gun isn't analogue? :p

I agree with rp42321, the shoulder buttons feel better for first person shooters than the triggers - those should be used for racing games where an analogue response is more accurate. Lets not forget the fiasco that was tomb raider anniversary, having to depress the trigger allllll the way and then release and re-press to fire again was a pain.

I bought the mag on the way home from work.
So far I think the triggers are a great idea.
I need to knuckle down for a decent gaming session to see if they are going to make a big difference.

Bought PSM3 to get the triggers a couple of days ago, and they're definitely a big improvement. Can't believe anyone thinks otherwise TBH, they don't chafe or hurt at all, you don't notice they're there (apart from your fingers being far more secure) and they improve the pad a good 10%. End of.

If you can't use the controller the way it is then you need a checkup.

Never had any issues, but then, I have big hands

Those triggers look horrendous.

there's always one :p

2 :) (me too).

Although to be fair I have not played my ps3 a great deal since getting those triggers (or more correctly I have not played any games that make use of the triggers, extensively).

They felt awkward to me tbh, but I have been using the pad without these triggers for close to a yea, so I would not expect to adjust straightaway.

At the moment they are sitting attached to my non dual shock controller. Need to try them at some point again (may as well as they cost me a fiver and the magazine they came with was crap!!)

here you go - you have to import, new to market

i got mine yesterday just because i spotted the mag in our corner shop on a beer run. its the march 08 issue of PSM3 with all the GTA4 advertising all over it

i doubt they are in every issue

we were having a motorstorm session in my living room and i came back clipped on the triggers - took 1 second each, and I will not take them off ever - they make driving and FPS games so much better to play

actually scratch that - it makes the whole pad feel much more tactile and solid in your hands

the makers of these things should really go into mass production. they are going for £20+ on auction sites [which suprises me as you can still get the mag in shops] but it shows the demand!

if they sold these things in games shops or even on their own site they would make a killing!

Might pick up some of these then - I assume the magazine is still on sale at the moment?
