Haze and Heavenly Sword are the 2 big titles that I see this year, both look excellent and I can't wait for them myself, especially the former :).

I'm debating a PS3 when prices come down, either that or a 3rd 360.

If I didn't have such a need for new technology I would have done the same.

Basically if Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, God of War, Ico/Shadow of the Collossus, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid and Heavenly Sword don't interest you (as exclusives) then I'd go for the Elite without thinking twice.

The PlayStation will likely have 2 price drops in 12 months from now I'd think.

Looking forward to quite a few of these games, I've pre-ordered Tiger Woods 08 was hoping Fifa 08 would be a September release :(

I would be very surprised if half of those games get released this year, but I'm looking forward to,

Lair - I just have to know whether it works..
Warhawk - I like the speed of the game, + it's online and hopefully won't be full of screaming 12 year olds.
Heavenly Sword - Plays better than I thought it would, and looks like a lot of killing (fun).

These 3 should carry me over for the next couple of months, then I want

Everybody Golf - Knocks Tiger Woods for 4 :)
Rachet & Clank - always thought they're great fun, and I can play it with my daughter (no killing) :)
Pro Evo - enough said, it's footy at it's best :)
Uncharted - brilliant developers, if they can pull it off this might just be great, interesting story.
Socom - reminds me of good old CS :D

and games I might pick up,

UT3 (mouse & K/B = :D)
GT: Pro
Army of Two
Time Crisis 4

That will do me for this year, of course if they actually all make this year?

So whole thing's just a bunch of guesses thrown in for good measure alongside the very few actual dates? Useless !

Just like any release dates there all subject to change, this is a release list for the US as i said, so EU ones may differ. The Warhawk date is confirmed though as it has now gone gold, GT prologue is a guestimate from what the developers have said and the Japanese release date. Haze is supposed to have a release date of 23rd November as stated by Ubisoft.

its gonna be hard for them to justify the price, ok a year ago when bluray players were still massively expensive. but you can now get a bluray reader + dvd writer for £130ish and thats still coming down pretty fast, as they sell more the prices tumble even faster. in 6 months we'll easily have pc readers for £60-70, writers down from the £250 to £150 most, maybe even hitting under the £100 mark. standalone players will drop in price massively as lasers are mass produced due to the big sales for pc drives. the drives are also starting to become options for lappies and a couple companies promise bluray as standard on lappies next year(toshiba was it?). price of ps3 was supposed to be great considering you got £500's worth of bluray player with it. when thats only £60's worth of bluray player free, they simply have to drop the price a lot.

99% of households want a blu-ray player to put under their HD telly - this is where your argument falls flat on its face. Yes, standalone players will get cheaper but comparing them against a PS3 is flawed on many levels.

And 96.3% of statistics are made up.

That is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard, lol.

The actual percentage of people with HD ready TV sets was still incredibly low last time I saw.

Maybe I should have explained further. I meant most households who have a HD ready set and who want to watch blu-ray content would do so with a proper player - not a HTPC or similar.

That was my point.
