Oh no, here we go again.

The point of this thread was to judge a few screen shots. If you don't want to do that, go else-where, perhaps to your 30fps vs 60fps thread. If you don't like them, think they are great or have found some better ones, post that.

This is just getting ridiculous. :rolleyes: :o
 
If I made a game which ran at 1fps it would have the most unbelievable, detailed screenshots you've ever seen ;)

My point is that screenshots do not tell the whole story. Do we want great games or great screenshots?

Then in a screen shot rating thread, your game would get high marks.

Yes we do, but discussing the frame rate isnt part of the thread, its just to say whether the screen shots look nice or not

Think about it. The reason the PS3 is coming out here over a year later than the 360 is not because they've been developing the hardware more. It's probably remained unchanged for 2 years. It's because of production problems.

If they had got that sorted out I'd have expected the PS3 to be out no later than March THIS year.

I hope the PS3 is a failure. Not because I love microsoft/nintendo, but because I don't like sony.

Of course it is. If GOW runs at a low framerate and Resistance runs at a high one then they need to be judged in that context.

anyway, i see your point, but i must admit those screenies do look good, not an extra £200 better though.

but it's all about the overall feel/presentation of a game for me. gears of war just blew me away, as it thrilled me in every way. such a cinematic and emotional feel to it, from it's stunning gfx to the musical score. it's like actually being in a movie, more so than any other game ive played. sure there's not much in way of a story line, but i just fill in the blanks myself lol

hope resistance is as good to play

Thats very true, and the only good side is that dev have had more time to work on the games for it. Which, in the case of a few PS3 titles, has resulted in some rather nice looking games.

Am I right in saying those screenies are actually photographs of something on a screen right? because thats how it looks to me.

I think it looks better than the screenshots i've seen of Gears of War, But then I've seen Gears of War running, Not played it mind you!

I'd like to see this other game running, Because if as dirty dog has said, That game runs looking like that, At a good FPS with no slow down. Then Damn thats a nice game, and the PS3 is a great console :)
 
I have to be carefull with Sony as I get all hyped up because the games looks great and after I buy them I'm left disapointed. Oh the PSP as scared me for life. :D
 
I must admit wanting the PS3 more and more over time - Resistance looks lush in motion. Like it or not, some of the very best games of this generation will be exclusive to the PS3, and any gamer that says they aren't interested at all has an agenda of some kind (in most cases, 'i've already bought a 360 and don't want to believe the PS3 is much cop'). If this was appearing on the 360 there'd be a long thread about how nice it looks and how awesome the multiplayer is.

I'll get one when the prices drop a little.

Definately true, But you'd also get the PS3 lot in the thread saying that games for the PS3 will be better :p
