ps3 slim metal ggear solid 4 problem?

Hi,

Other day got a ps3 with God Of War 3 and Final Fantasy XIII, both of which work great on the console, platinum copies of soul calibur 4 and metal gear solid 4 arrived today, put in soul calibur 4, it works fine, put in the metal gear solid 4 disc - no game comes up on screen, sounds like its loading, ejected and tried again, exactly the same, tried the other games after and they still work great. Any ideas what it could be, the software is up to date on it, and plenty of hdd space (250gb model with only game saves of the other games on it atm)

Nope, not a scratch in sight, game brand new, came today and removed plasitc covering on box

My advice would be send it back and buy another, better game?

Really though when I had MGS4 it worked fine on my slim PS3.

You may be on to something though, might be worth taking it back to the retailer and asking for another copy to test.

Just noticed something, on back of mgs4 box it says hd 720p, I know I'm running my ps3 on my comp monitor at 1080p, and that the other games I played said 1080p on the back of the box. Perhaps mgs4 can't run higher than 720p? Maybe I should downgrade the video output resolution and try it again?

It should still work regardless. Return it (the game) and get it replaced, sounds like something isn't right.

Try it on another console if you get the chance first before returning it
