PS3 Software update 4.0

I know how much some people hate downloading these, but here's a link to info on the latest update:

Looks mostly like it's setting up for Vita. Loving the fact that they have now added UK English as a system language, and I can now play games with "British English" support!

i think by now everyone should know not to expect anything big. sony have already said they cannot implement anything useful due to being restricted by how much memory the console has.

i see every single firmware as being the exact same as the one before it, because i dont think they have ever added anything useful ever, but have taken useful things away, like Linux.

i know i was never going to use Linux, but apparently a lot of people at University's were using Linux on ps3's to do research because it was much cheaper than buying the equivalent PC to do the same job.

the ps4 better have a crap load of RAM in it.

They've put a health warning in the start up

To call this 4.0 is a bit bad, 3.9 or so, but not really worthy of a x.0 update.

Health warning is annoying. I haven't looked yet, but I wonder if you can disable it?

Must only be a major release because of the Vita integration - bit crap, least it was a few mins to download/install...

I imagine they still are, there'd be no reason to update the firmware on such systems.

Haven't updated mine to 4.0 yet but this health warning is the stupidest thing ever. Sony have completely lost the plot.

Are you having a laugh? The PS3 firmware is nothing like it was when it first launched.

No they haven't added anything "big" in a while, but to say they have never added anything is ridiculous at best.

No idea how long it took to download as unlike you peasants I have Playstation Plus and it pulls my updates overnight...

It took all of 1 minute to install though.

Though I didn't install it today as I wanted to carry on playing Assassins Creed 2 and didn't need to go online (about 13 hours in, 11k income /20 mins from the Villa, all renovations done) Only just started in Tuscany.

Ass Creed 2 is one of those games that I want to buy, if only for the trophy whoring. My sister played it on the 360 and got about 800 gamerscore in her first playthrough!

I added the game to my wishlist ages ago and got it for Christmas I think. It's been sitting in the pile of things to do but I didn't really have any major urge to play it. Since I finished FF13 I was going to play Heavy Rain with the Move but the batteries were flat so instead I loaded up AC2 and it's been really enjoyable and I've not played anything else for the last 3 days

It's so good that I've instructed the wife to get me Brotherhood for xmas this year! But yeah, had no real hype for it before playing it and now I'm gad that I did. MSG4 and GTA 4 on the other hand I was really looking forward to and just have not been able to get into at all.

One of two games I've actually plat on, the only boring bit is the feather collecting...
