Been into Basildon today, looking for the PS3 starter pack. At both gaming shops neither have any idea about this pack or when they'll have it

Tried other electrical shops and a large toy shop no one seems to know anything about when they'll be selling them from....

The bloke at the 4 letter shop said he knew the price cut hadn't happened but they'd not had any information regarding the new pack and when they'll be stocking them.

Thought the retailers would start to have this info seeing they have Xbox Elite pre-order posters all over the windows and thats not until 24th August, PS3 pack was supposed to be available before the end of the month I thought?

Which is funny because motorstorm is only 1 player! :D

Well another person could hold the other controller and pretend they're playing. This works well with blind people i find.

£399 ? should i get one?

I'm assuming you have a 360 from your sig so I would say no, or else that question will just change to should I have got one? - no.

I wouldn't recommend it yet unless you're really after watching Blu-Rays.

Or like me you could polish it every day.
They are very reliable though as you hardly ever have to switch them on.

i switched mine on to play with a update, then 4 weeks later i did the same, i also took it too place where i brought it to play with but found it was my fault due to the many options that can be easily lost amongst all the menu's.

Go to Brentwood, a certain game shop is doing some deals in there on preowned ones.

It never fails to make me laugh when a shop calls something pre-owned.

It's second hand !!. Sooner or later pre-owned will have too much stigma as well and they'll have to call it something else. :D

Sloppy seconds :D

**Edit**

To add some substance to my post...

In my opinion If I were after a PS3 I would still wait until next year when there were some titles, that I really couldn't do with out, sat on the shelves ready to buy.

The starter pack seems like a little bit of desperation on Sony's part to kick start more sales. I can't count any Sony titles (that are out now/before Christmas - oh and excluding GTA IV) that appeal to me and make a PS3 a worthwhile purchase right now.

On the flipside, with the 360, I'm happy see that all E3 2007 titles (apart from Resident Evil 5) will be out this year. This also causes me a few troubles in that it will probably be a wallet busting 6 months up to the New Year :(.

Exactly, that £399 could all go towards a bundle of AAA titles for the 360 in just the next few months.

Thats the main reason i though MS'd conference was the best, the fact that i was seeing these awesome titles that i could play very soon. It is a pretty scary thought for the wallet though
