I guess that isn't possible, otherwise you could also download in the background when playing a game online.If it did them in the background as you acquired them, then it'd surely reduce the load on the servers, instead of having to sync a dozen or so at a time.

Maybe Sony intentionally block all other net connections when playing a game to lower memory usage and increase the chance of a low ping?syncing works in the background and runs ok on another console that i own. so can't imagine why PS3 would not be able to do it.
