PS3 User Interface

Am i alone i thinking its quite nice??
I use the PSP one and i like the interface on the PSP, and i do not know anyone who doesn't like the interface on the PSP.
Why must sony recreate an interface when they already have a good one like the PSP one?
And the PSP interface isnt that far away from the xbox 360 dash, side to side to go to sections, then drill down in them, whats the problem?
I dont mind the 360 dashboard but i do think it could do with some tidying up too.

Wasn't the Xbox the first ever console not to require a memory card, and with an HDD as standard? I agree that saving your game is much more important than watching DVDs (which many/most console owners wouldn't be bothered about). But remember that the PS2 first came out in early 2000 :)

Nes, SNES, Sega Saturn (if you're being a retentive about the definition of saving games to a console), N64..... etc

The PSP dashboard couldn't be more unlike the Xbox 360 dashboard! :)

I dunno about everyone else but the Xbox360 dashboard is one of its biggest selling points and nobody can say they dislike it, it's detailed yet clean and very attractive, I spent ages just staring at it when I first bought my x360.
 
It looks like Microsoft have adopted this form of UI for their new Vista Media Centre which I imagine will also make its way to the 360 in the future. The original MCE2005 menu system is a bit similar as well, but the Vista one looks more like the Sony one, but a more aesthetically pleasing version of it.

From what I've seen so far the 360's dash looks nicer, but we'll have to wait and see what the final PS3 menu system looks like.

I really don't think it is. I think PGR is a better bet, or the fact it was the first of the next gen consoles made available.
I doubt very much people decide to buy a console because it's pretty UI sold it to 'em.
