Originally had my PS3 connected to a HDMI TV, however i'm looking at putting it on my monitor now. The resaloution of this monitor is only 1680x1050 - so with the current settings i don't get a picture (expected). I have tried restoring to factory settings, however when i hold the power button down - i get the 2 beeps and still no display. I do get 'out of range' sometimes instead of 'no signal'.

I'm using a HDMI > DVI converter (So DVI cable and HDMI adapter).

Any input? Thanks.

Is your monitor HDCP compatible? I believe it has to be for the PS3 to work via DVI.

What is the monitor? (If it has multiple DVI ports, have you tried all of them?)

Had a similar problem with my PS3 setup - it could be that your PS3's current resolution is too high for the screen to display, so it blanks out.

Plug your PS3 back into the original screen and dial the setting down to a lower resolution (540 or so), then plug it into your monitor and get the PS3 to auto adjust via video settings. It should select the highest resolution your monitor can manage.

Hope this helps!
