I changed the PS3 to 1080p on my PS3 from the tele, then when i connected it to my pc via VGA it doesn't recognise it. The monitor is full 1080p, so that's not the problem. Any ideas?

How are u exactly connection via VGA? have you tried turning off the ps3 then holding down the power button until it beeps?

Not sure what to do then sorry but i think VGA is anolog and the PS3 output is digital? do you have a DVI imput? if so you could get a HDMI > DVI cable or convertor

My Sony LCD TV will not accept 1080p with VGA, not even with Component.
HDMI > DVI connector would be better, or doesn't your monitor have a DVI connection?

If his monitor isn't HDCP compliant it simply won't work and he'd have to get one of those HD Fury things or a new monitor.

I use an HDMI -> DVI cable for my PS3 to my monitor when it's not on the main TV.

Set up my VGA to PS3 cable by setting it up on a tele first...It shows picture on my monitor but keeps going black, then back to normal all the time. any ideas why?
