Now is the best time to get the 60gb version. Once that stock runs out we'll probably see an 80gb version replace it for a higher price.
Personally, I wouldn't go anywhere near the 40gb version.
you obviously dont know anything
first of all you can upgrade the hard drive with any normal laptop hard drive and have up to 250GB of space so the size of HD is totally not a factor especcially when the 360 only has 9GB or something
second of all the new ps3's with the smaller hard drives have newer processors in them than the old ps3's they are smaller, run cooler. and use less power, i think up to 40% less power or something i believe, so the 40GB ps3's are a lot better
i think the 40Gb has everything going for it especcially since its a lot cheaper and it has all the things a new gamer wouldnt need removed from it
and if you find out 40GB aint enough you could always upgrade in the future, personally i dont see the need of 10GB never mind 40GB
but it has been said throughout this thread currently the 360 is the best console to go for as an all rounder, the ps3 does look to be more powerful but not a decent number of games to choose from and wii looks like more fun but the graphics are poor and is aimed at a kiddies market
do to sum it all up
ps3 - its the best console out of the lot but lacks what it needs most a decent range of decent games, its like Ronaldhino playing for Wigan it may be the best in its class but without the support it needs it doesnt get to shine on the big stage as it should
360 - best all rounder , amazing online capabilities, graphics get only a 7.5/10 because i believe the ps3 is a lot more powerful, due to playing motorstorm and warhawk, this is the console to get just now
wii - amazing kids console, can get tiresome after a while, graphics are good for the price range but when compared to ps3 it gets a 6/10
het whatever console you want, but the newer ps3's have been improved a lot and all the rubbish that you dont need has been removed, and if you do need the extra stuff, it does have usb ports, i can plug in my external memory card reader, 500GB hard drive, keyboard, etc if the 40GB isnt big enough, i personally have the 60Gb model i think, whichever one was released at launch anyway i cant remember because size really doesnt matter
