Hi,

My ps3 won't connecttp my wireless due to security issues,, i know my password etc is correct so I've no idea what the problem may be. Can anyone help?

I use a netgear DG834G with WPA2-PSK(AES)

Well everyone else's comp. in the house is on wpa2 and it seems like a whole lot of hassle running around changing them all, besides isn't the ps3 meant to accept wpa2 etc?

don't worry, my PS3 REFUSES to work wirelessly, no matter what i do i get 'connection test failed' crap

I have the same router, and once I upgraded the firmware on the Netgear, my ps3 would not connect with WPA or WPA2. only WEP would work.

I put back on the older firmware and WPA and WPA2 works fine!
Doesn't seem to be Sony's fault :-S

I have that same router but I don't use any kind of encryption, I just allow certain Mac Addresses to connect, so i'm not much help.

Ive had wpa problems on my ps3, had to use wep. Try turning your router on and off and turn your ps3 off by the switch on the power supply (then wait 10 seconds).

I had WPA problems in the past, but after a few updates decided to try again, changed the WPA code and it worked.

Does it work with WEP/WPA disabled? (only do this to test)

I have experienced the exact same issue. My old netgear died, so I bought a brand new DG834T box. I simply couldn't get my PS3 connected. So I downloaded an older firmware and it's working fine.

I always found the PS3 wireless to be very unpredictable. I stuggled to get it to connect, and then when it finally would connect, it would disconnect and reconnect at random during usage. This all happened after the PS3 update that added the media centre functionality.

Good luck getting it working. Don't forget to set up the relevant port forwarding settings on your router either.

I've now moved over to home plugs and have an infinitely better connection. Means I can also connect my 360 using the same homeplug (it has 3 network ports).
