Awhile ago i heard you lot talking about a PS3 with 100gb+ and the Dual Shock 3 going on sale.

Is this still going to happen soon? and while it have the features of the original 60gb PS3 or will it be like the 40gb version which a few of features taken off it.

Thanks:)

The 60gig only boasts one feature over the 40gig worth mentioning, which is backwards compatibility. If you can't live without it, wait until the summer as it is rumored that backwards compatible PS3s will be returning, if you don't mind, just get the 40gig.

I thought there were other differences like a different mobo, worse build quality, lower power usage and fewer USB ports?

yes there are fewer USB slots (2 compared to 4), no memory card reader and the build quality does seem to be worse, don't know the specifics of that though.

Those differences do exist yes, however I'm unsure about the build quality thing, i only have a 40gig here and it seems solid as hell so the 60gig must be made out of titanium or sommat, at first it seemed a lot of 40gigs had failing blu-ray drives but i haven't heard much of that recently so i can only assume it was a teething problem more than anything.

For me 2 extra USB sockets (when it supports usb hubs) and card readers aren't really anything important but i suppose to some people it may be.

Nice I thought that the 320GB drives were 12.5mm high instead of the standard 9.5mm but apparently not.

I just looked and the harddisk prices have really dropped like a stone, I can get that drive for 99 euro which was the price for a 160GB drive not so long ago

I panicked after reading your 1st line!!! Didn't even check dimensions as I assumed all new 2.5 inch drives are 9.5mm. LOL
